Freshman: a newcomer or novice.

During this time we are encourged to spend time each day in mediatation of the current goal or task at hand. While this term Freshman is usually reserved for the enterance into high-school or at a University, it can be applied the same to every area of our life.

HURRY!

In life we are always in a hurry to the next step, to the next opportunity never fully enjoying or really experiencing all each opportunity has to offer. In most classes taken especially in at an University we are shown a syllabus which informs students a skeletal outline of the course including deadlines for assignments and projects for the semester. Often we always look toward the end rather than truly enjoying the process of learning the structure of the course, how assignments are graded, the policy and procedures. We do so the same in life as we hurry to become experts on day one. We don’t take the time to realize that there’s a process in everything that we do. Those who have excelled have taken the time to undestand the inner workings of that process, allowing them to move forward with a clear and productive understanding. If we would only comprehend how vital it is to take our time and trust the process, how much further would we be? If we applied this effort in not rushing the beginning stages and obtaining a clear outline of the process in reaching out goals in all areas of our lives, (school, relationships, work, other areas of interest) we might excel and developing the greatness that lies within each of us toward reaching our full potential and discovering our purpose.

TRUST THE PROCESS

So often we miss the most vital lessons that lay dormant within the process in a specific project or task. We become hypnotized focusing more toward the expected end rather than what was learned during the process of completing the task. During a course at an University one might look at a class and say “I need an A”, as the semester continues on “I can’t get anything lower than a C”. Too often we look at an end result without truly understanding what is takes to get there. Comprehending the amount of work it takes to reach an expected end is vital and more specifically the steps within the process to reach the desired in. Often people won’t even look into what it takes to reach a goal instead they tell themselves “ I want to be this.. or I want to be that..” but never research what it takes to get to this positions in which they seek to obtain. Knowing all aspects of the process is vital into trusting your process. In life nothing truly ever goes according to plan but all things do come together in the end. Working themselves out in an even better product than what one has planned if they trust their process.

IMPORTANCE

A forever changing idea of what we view is the highest priority. There is a difference between the what is important and what seems important. Often times than most we confuse the two as being the same thing and in doing so we allow the lesser to gain more attention in our lives. The fact is that there’s always something that needs to be done, a bill that needs to get paid but being able to proirtize the level of importance and realize what truly is important in the greater scheme of things is key. The tasks or objects that seem important often are rarely satisfying. In the end when reflected upon most are seen as waste of time. Seek which tasks will have a lasting effect allowing the greatest follow up of opportunities.

NOT EVERYTHING IS GOLD

Most objectives that we have set for ourselves dont matter in the long run. They do however provide learning experiences of the necessary energy aquired to complete tasks. The wealth of knowledge gained during each venture is also vital. This allows us to put forth the wisdom we have obtained into our purpose of meaningful and impactful work. The frustrations that we often experience that we are not where we wish to be in life or that we haven’t made the difference we wish to make is all a matter of perspective. Years later, those same thoughts and ideas may show a completely different perspective. Everything one journeys through is for a specific purpose in learning our true identity helping us develop our life’s work creating a legacy we leave to the world. Learning that not everything we take on in life will last but each situation we journey through has a lesson behind it that will help us in prepartion into becoming who we were meant to be.

ALL IN ALL

You are an one of one, an original. Life is for the living, so start living your life. Not with exepectation of others but with ideas and dreams of your own accord. No one person is identical inside and out mentally, physically and spiritually. While our environment influences us, make your ideas and thoughts are your own. Until we begin to live like that we hold our purpose and life’s work hostage depriving the world of our uniqueness. Those around us suffer when we do not contribute our time and talents. Each of us are lights and when we begin to live in our purpose not comparing ourselves to those around use we become a tower. Allowing others to see their own uniqueness within themselves igniting their light. Giving them the ability to shine their light, their gifts to the world filled in darkness.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” — Marianne Williamson
