FIX YOUR EYES

To fix your eyes on nothing else takes;

Focus, Discipline, Perspective, and Gratitude

Focus comes from gaining clarity on the desired goal and/or aspiration. You’ve made your mind up. You realize what exactly it is that you want and what you must do to obtain it. You must then ask yourself the most important question, “are you willing to go through whatever it takes to make that elusive vision become a tangible reality?”

Discipline has often been visualized in a negative connotation as a series of robotic movements. Where one no longer possesses the ability to feel emotions. No more distractions of the feelings of hunger, fatigue, sadness, anxiety, or depression. No longer being overwhelmed by the experiences of growing pains nor the pains of life or even the fear of missing out on celebratory moments.

“Discipline is doing what you hate to do but doing it as if you love it.”

It may sounds cruel that one must trick their mind into a routine of action however our emotions often do the same thing. Except when our emotions speak they often deceive not only our mind but cause paralysis within our body as well. Our emotions tell our minds, “we’re tired, we don’t feel like it, we’re no closer today than a year ago.” As a result, our body decides to rest, watch television, hang out with friends and enjoy life. Anything to delay the inevitable.

ALL LIES! These are forms of paralysis in which we must remind ourselves of the truth of tomorrow’s future even though today it seems like a lie. The truth of discipline looks like the importance of fostering a morning routine, accountability for time and resources, and the benefits of good stewardship.

“No paralysis through analysis”

We all are slowly shedding this current version of ourselves similar to how a reptile sheds its exoskeleton to grow. This version just like previous versions of ourselves served its purpose in their past seasons. However, those previous versions can not and must not progress toward the future if we are to obtain all that is destined before us. There are certain traits that must stop, some that must grow, and others that must evolve as we stretch towards our full potential.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Your perspective matters. Fear steals, kills, and destroys our goals, dreams, aspirations, and hopes. When you believe and have faith that Jesus came to restore hope. That the Creator provides goals that aid in the development of our character and values. The impartation of these dreams that are larger than life and can seem overwhelming with their weight. The Creator does this the intent is to partner with us, ushering them into a reality from the unseen to seen experiencing the fullness thereof. The Creator inspires us to aspirations that are far above what we can think or imagine. Leaving a legacy that is impactful to generations through the testament of our words.

Our perspective shows how the Creator brought us to mountains of dreams and aspirations, through valleys of adversity, allowed our eyes to experience the fullness thereof of the journey, and create a trail so that others may encounter their own experiences in their way. When we stop living just for us we realize our life is for us — a shared experience of individuals coming together as a collective.

Having a heart of gratitude is one of the most releasing experiences of euphoria. It’s an expression of thanksgiving. If we possess a heart of gratitude we learn how to guard our hearts against the thief named comparison who seeks to steal joyous moments.

We know that what is for you is for you despite what we may see, think, and experience. We know that all things are working together for our good. At the appointed time doors will open that no man can shut.

If we allow gratitude to be the regular maintenance, clearing our runway from the debris of disappointments. Then our work, all of our collective efforts in preparation for takeoff, is not impeded by self-doubt. The engine of our faith allows us to take off on the wings of hopes and dreams towards the clouds of high aspirations. We can trust and believe in this process because we are reminded of the truths that filter our thoughts.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
